Each collector's manifold and all copper U pipes are solidly constructed and welded as one completely sealed unit, and then pressure tested to 1,700 kpa (more than 3 times the maximum operating pressure). The solar collector has no removable connections, so no possible leaks, and is maintenance free. The solar heat generating evacuated glass tubes are just sleeves that push over the copper U tubes. The high heating efficiency of the U Tube design is obtained because the solar heated water flows through the manifold AND down and up each and every evacuated U Tube, unlike other evacuated tube solar collectors.
Long Life 316 marine grade stainless steel tanks can take the higher water temperatures from full-sun, and will therefore last much longer than enamel/glass-lined steel tanks. Not immediately obvious but heat pumps extract heat from the air (which is heated by the sun) and in doing so absorb solar energy very efficiently.
In the southern states, some heat pumps are at least as efficient as the best 'solar' units. (some are not, WE know the difference!)

Warning: Never buy a heat-pump that has an electric element - check first!
If it needs an electric element at any stage of its operation, then it's a hybrid not a true heat-pump. The heat pump is probably undersized for the job. As soon as the element kicks-in the electricity meter is going to start spinning faster and you've lost the entire reason for having a heat-pump in the first place!
This goes for commercial and hydronics applications too!

What is a Hot Water ring main ?
A hot water ring main is a hot water replenishing/circulating system in which water is maintained at the desired usable temperature, to provide a constant source of hot water.
Ring main systems are used to distribute constant hot water to outlets (taps, showers, baths etc.) that may be distant from the heat source or hot water storage vessel and/or boiler.
Typical locations where ring mains are used include private homes, residential care homes, hospitals and hotels.
The ring main should be well insulated and be as short as possible to reduce heat-loss.
Using a SMART ring main pump which automatically switches off when not needed, reduces energy and saves water.
